The Identification Division is comprised of the Criminal Identification Unit and Civil Identification Unit.
Criminal Identification Unit
The Criminal ID Unit (CID) is comprised of 4 squads in a 24/7 detention facility. Each squad works 12-hour shifts, rotating nights and days monthly. The Criminal Identification Unit is tasked with fingerprinting, running criminal histories, photographing, and collecting DNA of individuals charged under applicable laws in С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ County. Our agency is responsible for providing these services for all 12 cities in С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ County, estimating around 21,000 people processed per year.
Civil Identification Unit
The Civil ID Unit provides civil fingerprinting services and arrest record checks for the public at the С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ County Detention Center. There is a wide range of purposes for what we provide fingerprinting services for, allowing the Bureau to have assisted about 15,000-16,000 people per year.
