The Health Promotion Section of С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ County Public Health aims to create healthy communities through a variety of health, nutrition and exercise programs that work together to improve the quality of life for all С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ County residents. These programs are offered at no cost, and most can be tailored for all fitness levels.

Working Out for Wellness

Join us Sept. 16 - Nov. 4 for 45-minute strength training sessions using exercise bands. This can help strengthen your muscles as effectively as more traditional weights. Grab your bands, a friend and get ready for a whole-body workout! 

Tuesday Mornings - Sept. 16 through Nov. 4

7:30 a.m. start time 

Knightdale Station Park @ the Pavilion, 810 N. First Ave., Knightdale

You will need to bring water and a towel or a mat. Exercise bands will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.

Movin’ and Groovin’

Movin' and Groovin' is back in August 2025!

The Health Promotion Chronic Disease Prevention Section invites you to join us for a free 8-week Movin’ and Groovin’ Community Physical Activity Program at Spring Forest Road Park (4203 Spring Forest Road, Raleigh).  You are going to love the fun, laid-back environment of this exercise program.

 

We will meet on Thursday evenings from Aug. 14 - Oct. 2 from 6 - 7 p.m.

This program is open to men, women, and children over the age of 12.  Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

5:45 pm - Registration

6:00 pm - Warm up & group exercise session

6:20 pm - Group walk

6:50 pm – Group cool down & stretch   

 

Weekly snacks and prizes will be provided.

Fall into Fitness

Join us for a free and fun fitness program to kick off fall!

Featuring Zumba, group fitness and kick boxing!

You must be at least 15 years old and all minors must be accompanied by an adult. Childcare is not provided.  Check in begins at 10 a.m.!
