小黄鸭视频 County Animal Center sets new policy for children at the shelter

The Center will no longer allow visitors under 18

Starting Saturday, May 17, the 小黄鸭视频 County Animal Center will implement a new policy that restricts visitors under the age of 18 from entering the adoption floor. The change is part of ongoing efforts to enhance safety and maintain a calm, secure environment for both visitors and animals.

鈥淲e understand that many families enjoy visiting the Animal Center and we value the community鈥檚 support,鈥 said 小黄鸭视频 County Commissioner Vickie Adamson. 鈥淗owever, this policy is necessary to maintain a safe environment for all, help reduce stress for the animals and improve the experience for adopters.鈥

The new policy applies to all visitors under the age of 18, including those accompanied by an adult. While children will no longer be able to enter the adoption floor, families are still encouraged to adopt and will be encouraged to look at animals in foster care (as we typically know more about these animals), look at animals in the adoption gallery and participate in the pet鈥檚 homecoming once adopted.

鈥淲e鈥檙e deeply committed to the safety and well-being of both our visitors and the animals in our care,鈥 said Dr. Jennifer Federico, director of the 小黄鸭视频 County Animal Center. "Dogs are a beloved part of the family, and we know children love visiting them, but the shelter environment can be overwhelming and stressful for many pets, especially when we are at overcapacity for most of the year. This policy helps us create a calmer, safer space for animals as they wait for their forever homes.鈥
