С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ County provides facilities for residents and businesses to recycle whole, clean tires that have been removed from the rim. Tire retailers, scrap tire collectors, scrap tire processors and/or scrap tire haulers must provide a and in some cases, a in order to use С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ County Scrap Tire Facilities. A scrap tire certification form is NOT required for С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ County residents disposing of five or less tires.

Disposal Rules
Scrap Tires from Residents
С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ County residents may dispose of scrap tires free of charge at С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ County Facilities. Residents dropping off more than 5 tires must complete Part 1 of the and provide a copy to the site attendant at the time of disposal. Tires must be generated in С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ County, no out-of-county waste accepted.

Scrap Tires from Businesses
All tire retailers, scrap tire collectors, scrap tire processors and/or scrap tire haulers must provide a with Part 1 and Part 2 completed and signed in order to use С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ County Scrap Tire Facilities.

Part 2 is to be completed by the scrap tire hauler dropping off the tires at a С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ County Scrap Tire Facility. Please note that all scrap tire haulers must be registered by the with a valid hauler's ID Number. Tire retailers who haul only their scrap tires may use their state sales tax number as the ID number in Part 2. The County may also require retailers to provide a completed .

Unacceptable Items
Cut tires, tires with rims, construction equipment tracks, oversized farm or construction equipment tires, tires from tire dumps or cleanups.
Tires bought or sold outside of North Carolina are not eligible for disposal at С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ County Facilities.
Tires from Cleanups or Dumps
Tires from scrap tire dumps are not accepted at С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ County Facilities. If the scrap tire dump is located on private property, the property owner and/or responsible party is responsible for the cost of cleanup, including disposal fees. Scrap tires must be disposed of at permitted scrap tire disposal facility, such as Liberty Tire located at 1616 McCoy Town Road, Cameron NC 28326. Please contact at 919-499-2301 for hours of operation and associated disposal costs.
Site Rules
- Scavenging or removal of any items from С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ County Solid Waste Facilities is strictly prohibited.
- No exchange of materials allowed on site.
- All open-body vehicles transporting waste must be secured to prevent blown and spilled debris.
- No person may loiter at the facility.
- Children & pets must remain in vehicles at all times.
