СѼƵ County Early Voting Numbers Cross 60,000 Mark; Waits May Increase Next Week

Two New Sites; Many Sites Have No Wait Times

Just over 60,000 voters have cast their ballots in the first six days of Early Voting for the November General Election. That’s only about 7% of the 811,000 voters who could conveniently select any of 15 different sites and experience little to no wait times to vote. With more than half a million voters expected to turn out for the mid-terms, Elections Officials are concerned that sites will get much busier next week.

“Despite concerns about disinformation or threats against poll workers shared throughout the country, Early Voting has gone exceptionally smoothly in СѼƵ County so far and we’re just not seeing those fears come true,” said Gary Sims, director of the СѼƵ County Board of Elections. “We’ve had great cooperation from all party leaders and perhaps our biggest concern has simply been why more voters aren’t taking advantage of the warm weather and this convenient voting option!”

There is NO need to wait with the easy created by the СѼƵ County Board of Elections. For example, if there’s a 15–20-minute wait at the popular Chavis Community Center, this tool will show voters that just 1.1 miles away, there’s absolutely no wait at the Southeast Raleigh YMCA. This new Early Voting site is conveniently located right off I-40. Another new location that voters may not be aware of is the , strategically located in the southern part of СѼƵ County in Fuquay Varina.
