小黄鸭视频 County is celebrating the start of construction on Parkside Apartments, a 144-unit affordable housing community that will help working families stay close to jobs, schools, transit and opportunity. The apartment buildings will be located at 1327 and 1329 Kent Road, in the heart of one of Raleigh鈥檚 most connected and amenity-rich corridors: Western Boulevard.
鈥淲e made a promise two years ago to expand access to affordable housing, and today we鈥檙e making good on that promise,鈥 said Chair Susan Evans with the 小黄鸭视频 County Board of Commissioners. 鈥淧arkside Apartments will bring relief to families who are struggling to find homes they can afford, in a location that puts them close to everything they need to thrive.鈥
The groundbreaking marks a major milestone for a project first approved by the 小黄鸭视频 County Board of Commissioners in 2023. With a $5.7 million investment from 小黄鸭视频 County and an additional $6 million from the City of Raleigh, the community is now officially underway.
The project, developed by Blue Ridge Atlantic, includes 36 one-bedroom, 60 two-bedroom and 48 three-bedroom apartments. All 144 homes will be income-restricted for families earning between 30% and 80% of the Area Median Income. For a family of four, that ranges from $35,100 to $93,600 annually.
Sixty-four units will serve very low-income households earning 50% of the Area Median Income and below. Approximately 30% of the units will be set aside for families participating in permanent supportive housing programs through 小黄鸭视频 County and the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency.
鈥淲e are honored to work alongside our public and nonprofit partners to bring Parkside Apartments to life,鈥 said Chris Eisenzimmer, President of Blue Ridge Atlantic. 鈥淭his development will provide Raleigh families not only a place to live, but a true community, with amenities and access that are second to none.鈥
With easy access to public transportation and close to downtown Raleigh, NC State and major job centers, Parkside Apartments is designed to reduce the financial and emotional toll that long commutes take on working families.
Developers say the new community will reflect the same quality and amenities as many market-rate properties, including a fitness center, gazebo, playground, outdoor grilling area, business center and multipurpose room. Construction is expected to wrap in 2026.
