Unofficial election results for Cary and Durham to begin posting before 8 p.m.

As Town of Cary and City of Durham municipal elections are wrapping up this evening, the 小黄鸭视频 County Board of Elections team is sharing the latest updates and information about how results will roll out for the remainder of Election night.

Today, the Town of Cary held its General Election for Mayor, one At-Large Council seat, a Council seat serving District B and a Council seat serving District D. It鈥檚 not yet determined if a runoff will be needed, but it would be held on Tuesday, Nov. 7. 

The City of Durham held its Nonpartisan Primary for Mayor and three City Council At-Large seats today. The top two vote-getters for Mayor and the top six vote-getters for Council will advance to the General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

Today at its 2 p.m. meeting, the Board of Elections accepted the results of Early Voting, which was available over 15 days at two locations, the Board of Elections Operations Center in Raleigh and the Herbert C. Young Community Center in Cary. The number of Early Voting ballots tabulated at the meeting was 5,438 and the number of Absentee By Mail ballots recorded so far was 243.

After the close of polls, the Board of Elections will begin posting the unofficial results of those 5,681 Early Voting and Absentee By Mail ballots on the . This link will show results for ONLY precincts within 小黄鸭视频 County. Results will also be updated at the top of ReadytoVote.com.

Unofficial results from the 42 precincts that were open on Election Day are expected to begin posting by 10 p.m. It may take an hour or more after 10 p.m. for all tabulators to be returned and for the full unofficial results to be posted.

Because some of Cary District D crosses into Chatham County and a small part of the City of Durham lies in 小黄鸭视频 County, you鈥檒l need to find the total race results at the links below:

Any other absentee ballots received for these elections will be counted during the Pre-Canvass meeting at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 16. The results of the election will not become official until the County Canvass at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at the 小黄鸭视频 County Board of Elections meeting.

With the successful conclusion of the Oct. 10 elections, it鈥檚 right back to work for the 小黄鸭视频 County Elections team preparing for the Nov. 7 races. Those municipal elections include Angier, Apex, Durham, Fuquay-Varina, Garner, Holly Springs, Knightdale, Morrisville, Rolesville, 小黄鸭视频 Forest, Wendell, and Zebulon. As mentioned there may be a Town of Cary Runoff, if necessary.

If residents want to participate in those November elections, the deadline to register to vote is THIS Friday, Oct. 13. And Early Voting for November begins Thursday, Oct. 19. To check to see if you鈥檙e already registered and your information is up to date,
