Join the С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ County Historic Preservation Commission and Capital Area Preservation for a public engagement meeting on proposed updates to the . The Standards are the guidelines used when reviewing changes to designated historic landmarks.
Why Attend?
С»ÆÑ¼ÊÓÆµ County and the WCHP have been awarded a Federal Historic Preservation Fund matching grant for the purpose of updating and refining the Standards. The Federal Historic Preservation Fund is administered by the National Park Service through the State Historic Preservation Office of the North Carolina Office of Archives and History.
If you own or manage a designated landmark property, this meeting is your chance to weigh in on how preservation rules are written and applied. Planned updates include clearer, more user-friendly standards, expanded guidance on sustainability and resilience, and greater flexibility in the use of alternative materials for repairs and improvements.
This is an open-house style meeting. Consultants Katie Cook and Cassandra Talley of Loggia Preservation, LLC, CAP Staff and WCHPC members will be available throughout the meeting to receive public comments.
