What is the difference between Maintenance and Repair?

鈥淢aintenance鈥 generally refers to simpler tasks such as replacement of a distribution box or supply lines to correct any minor issues with the septic system. A permit is not required for maintenance. 鈥淩epair鈥 means the extension, alteration, replacement or relocation of existing components of a wastewater system. This generally applies directly to the septic tank or the drainlines and requires a permit from the County.

What happens to initial drain field area when the repair system is installed?

If a repair system is installed on a property, the existing system must be reserved for future repair area and the system is considered 鈥渙n rest鈥. On-site systems, as currently designed, have a limited lifespan.
