On Nov. 9, 2022, the С»ÆѼÊÓƵ County Board of County Commissioners passed a tobacco-free ordinance encompassing tobacco-free county-owned buildings, vehicles, grounds, parks and recreation areas, and tobacco-free public places. Under NC General Statute 130A-492, a public place is an enclosed area to which the public is invited or in which the public is permitted.
